While waiting for a connecting flight in Detroit, MI on friday Aug 11th, I came across a great country vocalist who charmed the crowd in the airport. Your musical performance - voice and guitar abilities are extremely impressive and were enjoyed by all. I was surprised to hear you were from the Quad Cities area also too! I will be watching you as you become a huge country star - you have the ability and the talent! Don't give up on your dreams!

August 2006 - They say it's a "small world" and now I know why. When Dave came to Advanced Automation, I had heard that he was from the Quad City area. So, when I introduced myself, I told him that I was from the nearby town of Geneseo, Illinois. Dave surprised me by replying, "so am I" and we talked about memories of living there. All I knew about Dave at that time was that he programmed robots and we both had midwest roots. When we were on a business trip in New York, I found out that he was a country music artist. We were in NY for over two weeks and after about a week, Dave told me that he had to drive to Elmira to pick up a guitar. I guess he was "missing" his other guitars. I had no idea how talented he was until he played a few songs on the "NY" guitar in the hotel. He is a fantastic guitarist and he has an excellent voice. He belted out three songs that sounded flawless to me. What blows me away is that he keeps it all in his head...no sheet music or lyrics! After our second trip to NY, we were waiting for our plane in Detroit. Dave got out his guitar at the Northwest gate and started performing songs softly. Before long, he had a small audience and I could tell that they were all impressed (probably trying to figure out which country music star he was). Afterwards, several people came over and thanked him for playing. A couple of them wanted an autograph from someone that they felt was destined to be a star. I have to admit that I never have been a big fan of country. But lately, I find myself humming "Garden of Stone" over and over. Dave, you have a gift for music. Keep the faith. I believe that you are going to make it big. P.S. You're a pretty good robot programmer too.
